Who are we?
The curator, Anja Löbert, is an independent scholar and freelance journalist with a special interest in popular music fandom. She has contributed numerous articles on British and American popular culture and lifestyle to leading German-language newspapers, including taz, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Der Tagesspiegel, and Neue Zürcher Zeitung. She earned an MA degree in sociology and media studies from Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, with which she remains affiliated. Her academic articles on fandom have appeared in both German and English-language scholarly journals, including Popular Music, published by Cambridge University Press. Finally, Anja has herself been a Take That fan since the early 1990s and was an active member in the subculture presented in the exhibition.

The co-curator, Dr Timothy Wise, is a lecturer in popular music at the University of Salford. He received his PhD in Music from the University of Liverpool in 2005. In addition to his regular participation in international conferences devoted to popular music, he has published articles in Radical Musicology, American Music, The Musical Quarterly, and (forthcoming) the Journal of American Folklore. He is the organiser of the » conference "Making Things Whole Again: the Take That Reunion" to be held at the University of Salford on June 3 and 4.
